A whole film about that song and nobody pictured Ariel under the sky.

Well, now here it is.

I posted this deviation to give you a proof of 2009 work quality.

Soon you will find an Ariel tutorial in my gallery. This character is exceptionally good for practicing structures and poses.

I used the original set of colors from the film to color both characters.

Well... Hmmm... I would've drawn her chin slightly different... I can't really explain it, so, I just took the picture and edited it slightly... XD

I was actually doing that in this very moment. The neck was too long, the chin too sharp and it lacked wet effect. Try to look at it now.
